Japanese sake goes exceptionally well with miso dishes.

We strongly recommend Japanese sake as an accompaniment to the miso dishes of which we are proud. Choose from brands made all over Japan, specifically selected because they go well with miso. The most popular is Aichi Prefecture’s locally brewed “Horaisen.” It has a fruity and elegant flavor. Besides our standard stocked items, we also provide monthly-changing, choice sakes that can be enjoyed only when they are in season, and whole bottles of rare sakes.

Takeout only, OK!

The rice miso and the soybean miso which we use for our dishes are for sale, too. You can buy 100 grams for 200 yen, so please try using miso at home. Our retort-pouched miso soup base (with plenty of freshwater clams) serves two for just 500 yen. Just add hot water and stir. Yamagobo pickled in miso, also 500 yen, are popular, too. Please take some home for your family or friends.

Although this restaurant is located in a very convenient place, its interior has a retreat-like atmosphere. MISO 18-KAGETSU is a unique restaurant where you can enjoy traditional Japanese dishes casually, while experiencing the cozy feeling of a place where local people gather. It has been brought to our attention that even those unaccustomed to Japanese food find our creative miso dishes easy to try.

Discover the new, through reviewing the old.

Discover the new, through reviewing the old.

Miso has been supporting Japanese dishes since old times. You cannot talk about Japanese cuisine, a world heritage now, without mentioning miso. In addition to adding its rich aroma and flavors to various dishes, it can also be an independent dish. Our goal is to get you to eat more miso! We have reflected on it and feel strongly that miso is an almighty seasoning that matches any kind of dish, so we use it in every menu item. Please enjoy a wide variety of miso dishes―from local dishes, familiar since old days, to creative, modern dishes which enable you to discover miso's many charms.
