KIMONO school (YOROZU Kimono Wearing Salon Lessons)

“YOROZU Kimono Wearing Salon Lessons” presided by Ms. Yuko Murakami, our kimono dress designer, accepts beginners. They learn how to wear kimono “speedily, easily and beautifully.” You can learn from scratch how to use a koshihimo (waist-cord) and an obimakura (oval pad with strings) without using any special tools. And the lessons are also designed to teach you about the “beauty” that was woven into kimono.

Kimono Redesigning

Kimono Redesigning

Instead of conventional kimono remaking, we propose “redesigning” that makes the best of the classical patterns of kimono and the ways they were woven, using those kimono full of precious memories as materials. We will carefully choose appropriate designs with you, taking into account the ways the kimono were dyed and woven, and sew kimono dresses and other articles in accordance with your wishes, making the best of the “splendors” of the materials. In addition to using your kimono, we can let you choose from among the vintage kimono and obi that YOROZU has rigorously selected, and make kimono dresses and others out of them. Do feel free to contact us.
